The
Cuffs
Shirt cuffs are not to be mixed up with hand cuffs. A cuff is an extra layer of fabric at the lower edge of the sleeve, fitting the shirt to your wrists. Corners of cuffs may be rounded or cut in angle. Button cuffs are closed with one or two buttons. (Please bear in mind to always bring sewing needle and thread whilst travelling. Few things are more frustrating than losing the cuff button on your favorite shirt.) Link cuffs are closed with links or silk knots. Cufflinks are commonly fastened in kissing style, pairing the insides together. Link cuffs are either single or double. French cuffs are twice as long as single cuffs and worn folded back on themselves. Normally, they are considered more formal, often worn with a dinner jacket. We would however encourage you to flaunt the beautiful handicraft of the cuffs, and skip the jacket every now and then.
